Yesterday I planted a row of potatoes. I put in 14 Yukon Gold and 14 Red Pontiac spaced 1 ft. apart. I dug a trench about 6 in deep with the rototiller and planted the potatoes about 3 in deep at the bottom of the trench. I'll refill the trench as the plants grow with a mixture of native soil and shreddings from my shredder. I probably have enough potatoes to put in another row. The 3 lb bags from Walmart are a good size for my yard. My soil is on the heavy side and I'm not sure how well these are going to do.
I also planted some Sunburst scallop squash seeds indoors and moved some Black Beauty zucchini seedlings to paper cups and put them on the porch at harden-off.
